Hi there! I’ve been having quite a miserable month, so I’ve found myself deep in the Shounen trenches—about 400 episodes into One Piece, to be precise. I haven’t been able to bring myself to wear an Outfit in weeks, so I’ve been defaulting to the pileup of animanga bootleg tees at the bottom of my closet, but below are a bunch of pieces that I’d happily wear if I had ‘em and represent the elusive intersection between otaku obsession and having a sense of style.

No hideous, officially licensed Uniqlo tees in sight, but yes to everything from necklaces to Muay Thai shorts sporting characters and iconic images from OP, Hunter x Hunter, Akira, Jujutsu Kaisen, Cowboy Bebop, Sailor Moon, and more classics—these pieces are well-considered and cool enough that they’re the type of thing you might start watching a show for, just so you can wear the clothes loud and proud (or even wear as a civilian [non-anime-watcher]—I’d never judge). I hope you enjoy, and I’m doing my best to keep these posts coming as I attempt to white knuckle it through next week, when I’ll have an exciting surprise to share with you all.

If you like these posts, please let me know by liking and commenting here or on HR’s Instagram, subbing to the HR Substack (this) for free or get bonus posts for seven bucks a month, or for ZERO DOLLARS, share (tag me if on IG so I can see and thank you)!
