Hi! I’m having a little “uh-oh moment” with my medications this week (real bipolar heads know), so for today’s paid post I decided to make a comforting round-up of everything—clothes, beauty, tattoos—I’ve been liking to see this fall/winter season. It’s cozy, creative, and only the tiniest bit convoluted. If you want more of my long-form writing, check out my most recent piece for i-D about preppy style (the final editor, not my lovely editor I work directly with, kind of butchered my thesis, but oh well).

If you like these posts, please let me know by liking and commenting here or on HR’s Instagram, subbing to the HR Substack (this) for free or get bonus posts for seven bucks a month, or for ZERO DOLLARS, share (tag me if on IG so I can see and thank you)!

If you cannot afford the $7/month, I totally understand—respond to any of my email sends and I will get you a $2 subscription or comp you, whatever you need. HR is for everyone!

THANK YOU for being here, and I am always available @humanrepeller on Instagram for sartorial scandals/situations/summons. Here is a little preview of what’s below the paywall:

Off-kilter knits by Katya Zelentsova

Pointelle Plunge Playsuit - £385

Wraparound Scarf - £215

Knits are such a staple of winter wear, but they typically vacillate between maybe 10 known shapes and textures, so Katya Zelentsova’s navel-baring necklines, sculpted scarves, and more experimental knits are the most exciting uses of yarn I’ve seen this season.

The perfectly-curated Women’s History Museum and its vintage shop

90s Chantal Thomass Pleated Skirt - $165
Vintage Issey Miyake APOC Cutout Top - $230
90s Condire 20471120 Velvet Dramatic Shoulder Top - $300
80s Junko Shimada Drop Waist Striped Dress - $185
Antique Raw Silk Ribbon Woven Cloche - $250

Don’t be fooled by the name—people of all genders can find vintage (even antique) pieces here, as well as a slew of exhibitions with names that immediately evoke entire worlds of sartorial possibility to me, like “Who wants to be human all the time?” and “Tales From a Drippy Realm.”

Cry-Baby sans J*hnny D*pp

PEARL TEAR CAT-EYE SUNGLASSES - $350

The always-excellent John Waters made only one mistake in his 1990 teem musical rom-com Cry-Baby, and that was hiring Depp. For the thousands of us who longed, upon seeing it, to trudge through life with a fat, wistful tear always threatening to drip from one eye, these sunglasses are a perfect item.
