Wish List #5: Secondhand News Edition

As mentioned, I decided to break The Wishlist (a shoppable, annotated list of wearables I’ve liked this week) up into weekly segments for paid subscribers, in addition to their other special posts, for pragmatism’s sake, since the master list (still available here!) was getting unwieldy. This is edition #5, here’s #2 , #3, and #4. Today, I’m focusing exclusively on secondhand items that have wooed me, from rare Meadham Kirchoff sweaters to the perfect polo. Also included in each wishlist post, under the paywall, will be my running list of favorite brands/designers.

Lolita Jeans x Yoshitomo Nara “Chenille Cartoon” Denim Pant - $162 (Sale)

Love Yoshitomo Nara, it is long since the time I should’ve had something with his illustrations on it, and jeans are more unexpected than a t-shirt or tote bag—I also love chenille as a medium.

1996 Football Kit - $74 (Sale)

This is the platonic ideal football kit to me. Not obnoxiously plastered with advertiser names, great color scheme, cute white collar.

Dirk Bikkembergs Bungee Boots - $850

I’ve been getting into Dirk lately and I’m a huge fan of bungee cords—wouldn’t these be great to attach the shoe charms I rec’d in the last post to? Or simply a place to store errant flowers or papers.

Issey Miyake Final Home Denim Jacket - $263

I’m a sucker for this kind of flayed, layered situation, and you could play with shape by stuffing the space between layers with scarves or something to create weird lumps.

CDG Dress - $328 (Sale)

I feel like I could make this dress, but I don’t want to. Perfect low-effort item that looks extremely Avant Garde while staying comfortable and simple.

Polo - $55

I’d wear this with the collar popped for 5 minutes, get embarrassed, and put the collar down again.

MNZ Animal Print Mules - $148.50 (Sale)

I found a pretty amazing dupe of these in black, but with a buckle, at a secondhand store in Buenos Aires for less than $20:

I only have this bad photo, but the ones I found also have the cowboy boot-esque stitching and paneling that the MNZ ones do!
